Pyrometers are measuring tools intended for industrial applications. Reliable, robust and easy to install, pyrometers allow contactless temperature control and measurement. These sensors can be suitable for the most demanding environments. The pyrometers offered by Altronics are designed to cover wide temperature ranges from -40 to 3200°C.
Infrared is electromagnetic radiation (1μm and 20μm) which can not be detected with the naked eye because it is located just before visible light (red color). The infrared camera/pyrometer therefore detects infrared energy and converts it into an electronic signal, which will then be processed to produce a thermal image or video.
The different criteria to take into account when choosing a pyrometer are as follows:
• The distance from the part to be measured,
• The size of the measured part,
• The surface condition (gloss, matte, etc.),
• The material to deduce the emissivity,
• The temperature range,
• Ambient temperature where the pyrometer will be installed.
Thermalert 4.0 infrared pyrometers allow continuous and real-time temperature measurement. This measurement tool is configurable and customizable for a large number of industrial applications and can also be adapted to your existing process.
The temperature range of the Thermalert 4.0 infrared pyrometer is -40 to 2250°C. This measuring instrument offers high resolution optics as well as laser sighting for precise measurement on small targets with a response time of 30 ms.

The Raytek MI3 compact pyrometer has been designed for non-contact temperature measurement in industrial applications for OEM/integrator installations. The MI3 pyrometer includes a high-performance measuring head and a separate electronic box. The communication box is available in DIN support with USB interface, analog outputs (0/4-20mA, 0-5/10V, type J, K, R or S t/c), RS485, Modbus network, Profibus, Profinet or Ethernet . The small size of the MI3 pyrometer allows it to be installed in all industrial machines. Its separate communication box allows direct reading of the temperature and the link with your PLC in an analog or digital way.
The main characteristics of the MI3 pyrometer are as follows:
• Wide measurement range: -40°C to 1800°C,
• Sensor resistant to ambient temperatures up to 180°C without cooling,
• High precision optics (up to 100:1).
The Endurance pyrometer meets all the requirements of modern industries. The temperature range of the Endurance pyrometer is between 50 and 3200°C, making it an indispensable temperature measuring instrument for the processing of metals, glass and ceramics. Endurance pyrometers are integrated in robust stainless steel enclosures meeting IP65 (NEMA4) requirements and accept a maximum operating temperature of 65°C ambient without auxiliary cooling.
The main characteristics of the Endurance pyrometers are as follows:
• Variable focal length with manual adjustment,
• Programmable alarm,
• Analog outputs and digital outputs.
The Endurance fiber optic infrared pyrometer is a non-contact, reliable and robust temperature measuring device, allowing target temperature measurement thus avoiding the constraints associated with narrow areas. Using a flexible optical cable allows the optical head to be installed. This measuring instrument has been developed to be suitable for the most restrictive environments. Housed in a stainless steel enclosure, it is available with the widest range of communication interfaces, from rugged isolated analog I/O to fast LAN/Ethernet and RS485.
The main features of the Endurance fiber optic pyrometer are:
• Robust non-contact fiber optic temperature measurement system,
• Wide temperature range: 250°C to 3200°C,
• Optional focusing lenses of different focal lengths for different measuring distances.
Each pyrometer complies with Industry 4.0 standards and is available with certifications ATEX et IECEx.
All pyrometers sold by Altronics are also IP65 certified. The IP65 standard is an international standard of the International Electrotechnical Commission which determines the tightness of a product in relation to solid bodies and liquids.
