Video signal generators and analyzers

Different types of video signal generators and analyzers and their uses

In signal processing, numerous protocols and standards are regulating the transmission of information on every interfaces (HDMI, DP, USB-C...).

You can also check our dedicated guides on protocol certification or video connectors and interfaces.

Video signal generators

Video signal generators are essential test devices in order to debug, test and confirm the video signal transmission and displaying.

Altronics

Video signal generators are acting like sources and are designed to transmit sized patterns to a sink (ex: 8K display).
During the signal generation, resolution, protocols and interfaces must be considered. A right displaying will be indicating the system validity.

Video signal analyzers (and generators)

Video signal analyzers are essential test devices in order to debug video interfaces and monitor HDCP protocols. Most of them are also signal generators.

Altronics

Video signal analyzer and generators can be used as repeater, sink and sources, they allow the precise test and monitoring of the interfaces with an software (UI).
Some of them can be used for protocolar pre-certification, in that case, they are approuved CTS (Compliance Test Tool).
